For the 2025 City God Birthday Festival, Xia-hai City God Temple has partnered with Story Wear and Kaien Bespoke Tailoring to create a brand-new divine garment tailored for the City God.
The design is inspired by the theme of “navigation,” blending the fluidity of ocean waves, the guiding power of a compass, and the structured elegance of a suit. Together, these elements symbolize a righteous guardian who journeys through time, protecting the city and its people.
Alongside the signature armor suit, a series of limited-edition collaborative accessories has been released, allowing divine blessings to step beyond the temple and into everyday life, becoming a form of wearable protection.
Blending embroidery with printing techniques to carefully show the details of a compass. Metallic threads radiate like starlight, evoking a guiding light of protection in the night.
With a pin-back design, the patch can be easily attached to clothing, bags, hats, or accessories, adding a touch of personal style and the warmth of faith to everyday looks.
【 About Xia-Hai City God Temple 】
Founded in 1856, Xia-hai City God Temple is located in Dadaocheng, Taipei, and has long served as a vital spiritual center for the local community. The temple is dedicated primarily to the City God, a guardian of justice between the realms of the living and the dead, who protects the people and wards off evil.
The City God’s birthday is celebrated annually on the 14th day of the fifth lunar month, marked by one of Taipei’s most vibrant folk festivals. On the eve of the birthday, a grand parade and ritual procession take place, drawing thousands of participants in celebration and gratitude. This cherished tradition preserves both deep-rooted cultural memory and communal faith.
The temple is also renowned for enshrining the Matchmaker God (Yue Lao), regarded as one of the most trusted and spiritually responsive in all of Taipei.

Denim fabric uses environmentally friendly natural plant dyes, which are prone to dyeing and fading. It's normal for the color to fade after washing. Therefore, items from different periods will display unique colors due to differences in individual washing methods and wearing habits.
1. Avoid wearing with white clothing to prevent dye transfer from the denim fabric.
2. If the garment has spliced white fabric, slight staining of the white part may occur due to prolonged wear or friction with the dark denim part, which is a normal phenomenon.
▎ Washing Precautions
1. The fabric may have a slight color fade due to the natural dye characteristics. White clothing should be washed separately to avoid dye transfer.
2. For the first wash, please hand wash in cold water or use a laundry bag and select a gentle cycle.
3. Do not bleach, dry, or iron. Keep it away from high temperatures and fire.
4. If the garment contains spliced white fabric, have it dry-cleaned by a professional cleaner to ensure the integrity and color of the fabric.
1. Avoid using bleach or strong detergents to protect the color and texture of the fabric.
2. Avoid strong or prolonged exposure to light to prevent damage to the color and cotton fibers.
3. The white part can be cleaned regularly with a special stain remover to maintain its brightness and whiteness.
4. Do not put sharp objects directly into the pockets to avoid puncturing or scratching the product.
5. Denim fabric may transfer color or stain other contacting items or clothing due to rain, sweat, or friction. Please be aware of usage.
