▎Materials｜Retired baseball jerseys × Recycled denim
Before we encountered the Basegarden Education Foundation, these jerseys were resting quietly in boxes. They weren’t damaged, only set aside as seasons ended, children grew, and sizes no longer fit.
But in Story Wear’s eyes, the frayed fabric and ground-in red clay stains are proof of effort, visible marks of having tried hard.
We gathered retired baseball jerseys from across Taiwan and paired them with Story Wear’s signature recycled denim. Each bag is upcycled using approximately one retired jersey and fabric from about 0.25 pairs of recycled jeans, stitching together every swing, sprint, drop of sweat, and moment of perseverance into a reborn jersey bag you can carry every day.

We deconstruct and reassemble recycled baseball jerseys while intentionally preserving their most iconic details: classic button fronts, breathable mesh textures, and the piped neckline that fans instantly recognize.

▎About the Basegarden Education Foundation
Founded in 2013 by the professional baseball player Chou Szu-Chi, a native of Hualien, the Basegarden foundation was inspired by the support and encouragement he once received through the Kuo Yuan-Chih Baseball Scholarship.
After becoming a professional athlete, Chou dedicated himself to supporting grassroots baseball education in Hualien, researching Taiwan’s baseball history, and preserving and passing on baseball culture. This commitment led to the establishment of the Basegarden Education Foundation, which provides scholarships and promotes reading programs for youth baseball teams. Its core mission is to encourage young players who excel both academically and athletically.
The Fund hopes that children who love baseball can receive a quality education throughout their studies, allowing them to pursue athletic growth without neglecting their academic development.
Beyond grassroots education, the Fund is also deeply engaged in tracing Taiwan’s baseball history, preserving important baseball artifacts, and carrying forward Taiwan’s baseball culture, ensuring that more of Taiwan’s own baseball stories are preserved for future generations.

【 Denim fabric maintenance and precautions 】
▎ Why does denim fade?
Denim fabric uses environmentally friendly natural plant dyes, which are prone to dyeing and fading. It's normal for the color to fade after washing. Therefore, items from different periods will display unique colors due to differences in individual washing methods and wearing habits.
▎ Dress carefully
1. Avoid wearing with white clothing to prevent dye transfer from the denim fabric.
2. If the garment has spliced white fabric, slight staining of the white part may occur due to prolonged wear or friction with the dark denim part, which is a normal phenomenon.
▎ Washing Precautions
1. The fabric may have a slight color fade due to the natural dye characteristics. White clothing should be washed separately to avoid dye transfer.
2. For the first wash, please hand wash in cold water or use a laundry bag and select a gentle cycle.
3. Do not bleach, dry, or iron. Keep it away from high temperatures and fire.
4. If the garment contains spliced white fabric, have it dry-cleaned by a professional cleaner to ensure the integrity and color of the fabric.
▎Maintenance method
1. Avoid using bleach or strong detergents to protect the color and texture of the fabric.
2. Avoid strong or prolonged exposure to light to prevent damage to the color and cotton fibers.
3. The white part can be cleaned regularly with a special stain remover to maintain its brightness and whiteness.
4. Do not put sharp objects directly into the pockets to avoid puncturing or scratching the product.
5. Denim fabric may transfer color or stain other contacting items or clothing due to rain, sweat, or friction. Please be aware of usage.

Founded in 2018, the brand has upcycled and transformed 11,305 pieces of recycled jeans, 1,775 yards of stock fabric, and has a long-term cooperation with non-profit organizations as production units. These include the Cerebral Palsy Association, the Women's Association, and The Family Support Center.
