StoryWear is Taiwan's first zero-waste fashion brand.Since 2018, StoryWear has applied this model to build long-term partnerships with five non-profit organizations in Taiwan, including the Cerebral Palsy Association. Working hand in hand with social welfare teams, these partnerships have successfully helped participants secure stable employment.

Each item in this campaign is entirely handmade by women who completed overseas vocational training through the Tzu Chi Foundation. Every piece is crafted from recycled denim, carrying the unique patina and patchwork texture shaped by time, and finished with 100% hand-woven Nepalese cotton cord. Free from industrial mass production, each piece is a singular addition to your collection.

The pieces handcrafted by these women will take the stage alongside Story Wear at New York Fashion Week in September 2026.

Your support gives their craftsmanship a stage — and lets the world see it.

This October, the same story will continue to resonate at Taipei Fashion Week.

Due to current logistical constraints, Sierra Leone is not yet able to take part directly in product manufacturing. This 5%, calculated from product sales revenue, is allocated to purchasing local sewing equipment and funding vocational training courses.

Sierra Leone ranks 181st out of 191 countries on the United Nations Gender Inequality Index, with women accounting for as much as 96.6% of informal employment. The purpose of this 5% is to change that number — helping more women achieve economic independence and transform the course of their lives.

In 2025, the world produced more than 100 billion garments. As much as 85% of discarded clothing is sent directly to landfill.Less than 1% is ever recycled into new use...

And in the minute it takes you to read this, roughly 175 tonnes of textile waste are discarded worldwide.

In Nepal, an estimated nine women experience sexual violence every day, and as much as 90.5% of women work in unprotected informal employment.

In the Philippines, women face a 28% gender pay gap alongside a heavy burden of unpaid care work.

And in Sierra Leone, which ranks near the bottom of the world on the Gender Inequality Index, women face the highest maternal mortality rate on Earth.

In the face of injustice deeply rooted in social structures, we believe that sustained vocational empowerment can help these women use their own hands to rise above inequity and reclaim a stable life.
